WHEREAS the International Covenant on Economic, Social and
Cultural Rights was adopted by the General Assembly of the
United Nations on 16 December 1966 and entered into force on 3
January 1976,

AND WHEREAS the said Covenant has been signed on behalf of the
Government of the Republic of China on 5 October 1967,

NOW THEREFORE I, President of the Republic of China, in
accordance with the provision of Article 26 of the said Covenant
and the procedures of the Constitution of the Republic of China,
ratify the said Covenant and provide this Instrument of
Ratification.

IN WITNESS WHEREFORE, I have signed this Instrument of
Ratification and have affixed hereto the National Seal.

Done at Taipei on this fourteenth day of May of the
Ninety-eighth year of the Republic of China, corresponding to
the fourteenth day of May of the year two thousand and nine of
the Gregorian calendar.
