The Embassy of the Republic of China presents its compliments to
the Department of State for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of
The Gambia and has the honour to inform the latter that the Agr-
eement of Agricultural Technical Cooperation between the Goverm-
ent of the Republic of The Gambia and the Governmentof the Repu-
blic of China was expired on 21st May 1999. The Government of t-
he Republic of China has suggested, in accordance with Article 6
of the said Agreement, to renew the Agreement through exchange
of notes, for a further period of three years.
The Embassy of the Republic of China has the further honour to
state that, the reply from the Department of State for Foreign
Affairs confirming that the Government of the Republic of The G-
ambia accepts the aforesaid suggestion shall complete the excha-
nge of notes and bring the Agreement into force henceforth until
21st May 2002.
The Embassy of the Republic of China avails itself of this oppo-
rtunity to renew to the Department of State for Foreign Affairs
of the Republic of The Gambia the assurances of its highest con-
sideration.

The Department of State for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of
The Gambia presents its compliments to the Embassy of the Repub-
lic of China and with reference to the Embassy's Note No. ROC/90
209/0170 of 9th February 2000 has the honour to convey Gambia G-
overnments' agreement to the proposal to renew the Agricultural
Technical Cooperation between the Government of the Republic of
the Gambia and the Government of the Republic of China, which e-
xpired on 21st May 1999, for a further period of theree (3) yea-
rs.
This note shall therefore complete the exchange of notes and br-
ing the Agreement into force henceforth until 21 May 2002.
The Department of State for Foreign Affairs while holding back
some modifications/observations made by the Departmentof State
for Agriculture and which will be to the Embassy in ude course
avails itself of this opportunity to renew the assurances of its
highest consideration.
