EXCHANGE OF NOTES CONCERNING THE EXTENSION OF THE AGREEMENT OF AGRICULTURAL TECHNICAL COOPERATION BETWEEN THE REPUBLIC OF CHINA AND THE KINGDOM OF SWAZILAND

The Embassy of the Republic of China to the Kingdom of Swaziland
presents its compliments to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and
Trade of the Kingdom of Swaziland and has the honour to advise
that the Agreement on Agricultural Technical Cooperation between
the government of the Republic of China and the government of
the Kingdom of Swaziland is going to expire on February 11, 2000
. A copy of the Agreement is enclosed for reference.
In accordance with Article IV. the government of the Republic of
China would like to propose that the said Agreement be renewed
for another three (3) years after its expiration. Any comments
and suggestions in this regard from the government of the Kingd-
om of Swaziland are highly appreciated.
The Embassy of the Republic of China avails itself of this oppo-
rtunity to renew to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of
the Kingdom of Swaziland the assurances of its highest consider-
ation.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of the Kingdom of Swa-
ziland presents its compliments to the Embassy of the Republic
of China and has honour to refer to the latter's note No.CE88/02
0 on the expiry of the Agreement on Agricultural Technical Co-o-
peration between the Government of the Kingdom of Swaziland and
the Republic of China on February 11 2000 and to advise that the
kingdom of Swaziland welcomes the proposal for renewal of the
agreement for another three (3) years after its expiration in
accordance with Article IV.
The Ministry further wishes to convey its apologies in the delay
in sending such a confirmation of extension as this was occasio-
ned by some technicalities which needed to be addressed.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of the Kingdom of Swa-
ziland avails itself of this opportunity to renew to the Embassy
of the Republic of China the assurances of its highest consider-
ation.

The Embassy of the Republic of China to the Kingdom of Swaziland
presents its compliments to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and
Trade of the Kingdom of Swaziland and has the honour to refer to
the latter's note No.8/2000 of February 16, 2000, and advise th-
at according to article IV of the Agreement of Agricultural Tec-
hnical Cooperation between the Kingdom of Swaziland and the Rep-
ublic of China the agreement is deemed renewed for another three
(3) years once the exchanges of notes between the two parties is
completed. It is not required to sign the renewed agreement.
The Embassy of the Republic of China avails itself of this oppo-
rtunity to renew to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of
the Kingdom of Swaziland the assurances of its highest consider-
ation.

The Embassy of the Republic of China presents its compliments to
the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of the Kingdom of Swa-
ziland and has the honour to refer to the Embassy's note No.CE89
/061 of February 25, 2000, and advise that according to article
IV of the Agreement of Agricultural Technical Cooperation betwe-
en the Kingdom of Swaziland and the Republic of China, the said
Agreement had entered into force on the date of January 11, 1994
, and being renewed for another three years on February 11, 1997
.
In order to maintain the continuity of agreement's validity, the
Embassy would like to propose that newly renewed Agreement enter
into force on January 11, 2000, instead of February 11, 2000 and
shall remain valid for a period of three years until January 11,
2003. The Embassy will be highly appreciated if the Government
of the Kingdom of Swaziland would be in agreement with the abov-
ementioned proposal.
The Embassy of the Republic of China avails itself of this oppo-
rtunity to renew to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of
the Kingdom of Swaziland the assurances of its highest consider-
ation.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade presents its complime-
nts to the Embassy of the Republic of China and has the honour
to refer to the latter's Note No. CE89/081 on the Agreement on
Technical Cooperation between the Kingdom of Swaziland and the
Republic of China and to advise that the Kingdom of Swaziland
concurs with the date January 11, 2000 as date of entry of the
above agreement and that it shall remain in force for a period
of three years.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of the Kingdom of Swa-
ziland avails itself of this opportunity to renew to the Embassy
of the Republic of China the assurances of its highest consider-
ation.
