TEMPORARY DUTY ASSIGNMENTS
ARTICLE I
PURPOSE
This Annex 1 to Memorandum of Agreement NAT-I-2305, (the “
Agreement ” ), between the Taipei Economic and Cultural
Representative Office in the United States (TECRO) and the
American Institute in Taiwan (AIT) (hereinafter, the “ Parties
” )provides a framework through which AIT, through its
designated representative, the Federal Aviation Administration
(FAA) of the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), may make
personnel available on a temporary duty assignment basis to
provide civil aviation technical assistance to TECRO, through
its designated representative, the Civil Aeronautics
Administration (CAA).
ARTICLE II
DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES
At the request of TECRO ’ s designated representative, AIT ’ s
designated repsresentative may provide specialists, subject to
their availability, to provide such services under the Agreement
as may be requested by TECRO ’ s designated representative.
ARTICLE III
IMPLEMENTATION
A. All services provided under this Annex shall be specified in
appendices to this Annex.
B. Each appendix shall be numbered sequentially and contain a
description of the services to be performed by AIT ’ s
designated representative for TECRO ’ s designated
representative, the location and planned duration of the
services, the personnel and other resources required to
accomplish the services, and the estimated costs of the
services.
C. The designated points of contact between TECRO and its
designated representative and AIT and its designated
representative for coordination and management of this Annex

ARTICLE IV
FINANCIAL PROVISIONS
A. TECRO shall make all payments in accordance with Article VII
of the Agreement.
B. Statements of account from AIT shall contain a reference to
agreement number NAT-I-2305-1 (which is the number assigned
by AIT to identify this Annex and which shall be referred to
in all related correspondence).
ARTICLE V
ENTRY INTO FORCE AND TERMINATION
This Annex shall enter into force on the date of the last
signature and shall remain in force until terminated in
accordance with Article XI of the Agreement. Termination of this
Annex shall terminate all appendices concluded by the Parties
pursuant to this Annex.
ARTICLE VI
AUTHORITY
TECRO and AIT agree to the provisions of this Annex as indicated
by the signatures of their duly authorized representatives.

TEMPORARY DUTY ASSIGNMENT
ARTICLE I
PURPOSE
This Appendix to Annex 1 to Memorandum of Agreement NAT-I-2305
(the “ Agreement ” ), between the Taipei Economic and Cultural
Representative Office in the United States (TECRO) and the
American Institute in Taiwan (AIT) (hereinafter, the “ Parties
” )provides a framework through which AIT, through its
designated representative, the Federal Aviation Administration
(FAA) of the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), shall make
personnel available on a temporary duty assignment basis to
provide certain civil aviation technical assistance to TECRO,
through its designated representative, the Civil Aeronautics
Administration (CAA).
ARTICLE II
DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES
A. AIT, through its designated representative, shall provide
three (3) specialists with backgrounds in research
engineering, aerospace engineering, and crash dynamics to
travel to Taipei in the fourth quarter of CY2016, for a
period of five (5) days, not including travel days. The
specific dates for the trip shall be mutually decided by
TECRO and AIT, through their designated representatives, in a
separate, written communication.
B. The specialists from AIT ’ s designated representative shall
assist TECRO ’ s designated representative in the area of
16G dynamic seat testing through the review of tests,
procedures and a sled facility utilized for this purpose.
C. Should the Parties ’ designated representatives determine
that additional services may be required, the Parties shall
agree to the date, duration, and estimated costs of such
services in a written amendment to this Appendix or in a
separate appendix.
D. All activities of the Parties and their designated
representatives shall be carried out in accordance with the
laws and regulations that apply respectively in the
territories of the authorities represented by the Parties,
including those pertaining to export controls and the control
of classified information.
ARTICLE III
FINANCIAL PROVISIONS
A. Pursuant to Article VII of the Agreement, TECRO shall pay to
AIT the estimated costs of the services to be provided under
this Appendix, including an administrative overhead charge.
In the event that AIT does not receive the payment of the
estimated costs at least thirty (30) business days prior to
the scheduled start of the temporary duty assignment, AIT
shall cancel the technical assistance project and forward a
statement of account for all costs incurred by AIT ’ s
designated representative in preparing to provide the
technical assistance. TECRO shall pay any such statement of
account.
B. The estimated cost for three (3) specialists for the
referenced period is seventy-one thousand one hundred
thirty-three U.S. dollars (US$71,133), which includes salary
and benefits, transportation, per diem, support activities by
AIT ’ s designated representative, and the administrative
overhead charge.
C. AIT statements of account shall contain a reference to
agreement number NAT-I-2305-1-1 and billing number NB6208TW8
(which are the numbers assigned to identify this Appendix and
which shall be referred to in all related correspondence).

D. Upon receipt of a statement of account from AIT, TECRO shall
reimburse AIT for all costs incurred by AIT ’ s designated
representative in providing the services under this Appendix,
including the administrative overhead charge.
E. In making payments under this Appendix, TECRO shall include a
reference to the assigned agreement number and billing
number. TECRO shall use the following information in making

ARTICLE IV
ENTRY INTO FORCE AND TERMINATION
This Appendix shall enter into force on the date of the last
signature and shall remain in force until the date of
notification by AIT to TECRO that the services described herein
are completed and all required payments have been made, unless
this Appendix is terminated earlier in accordance with Article
XI of the Agreement.
ARTICLE V
AUTHORITY
TECRO and AIT agree to the provisions of this Appendix as
indicated by the signatures of their duly authorized
representatives.
