The American Institute in Taiwan (AIT) and the Taipei Economic
and Cultural Representative Office in the United States (TECRO)
herby jointly determine pursuantto Article VIII (c) of the Agre-
ement for Cooperation concerning Civil Uses of Atomic Energy, s-
igned April4,1972, as amended, that the provisionsin Article XI
of that agreementmay be effectively applied in respect of the p-
lan proposed in January l994 for the alteration in form or cont-
ent of irradiated fuel elements from the Kuosheng Nuclear Power
Station at the Hot Laboratory of the Institute of Nuclear Energy
Research, Lungtan, Taiwan. The facility is here by found accept-
able to both parties pursuant to Article VIII(c) of the agreeme-
nt for the sole purpose of alteration in form or content of irr-
adiated fuel elements from the Kuosheng Nuclear Power Station f-
or the period ending December 3l,1996.
