Representatives of the American Institute in Taiwan and the Tai-
pei Economic and Cultural Representative Office in the United S-
tates met in Washington, D.C. on February 9,2001.
During the consultations they agreed to extend the Agreement Be-
tween the Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office and
the American Institute in Taiwan Concerning Trade in Textile and
Apparel Products, dated December 10, 1997. for a period of twel-
ve months beginning from January 1, 2001 through December 31, 20
01.
The parties agreed to establish a specific limit for Category 62
2, glass fiber fabric, at the level shown in the Annex. The spe-
cific limit will be entitled to receive 1.50 percent annual gro-
wth.In addition, the specific limit will have available 6 perce-
ntswing to and from the Group I limit, and carryover and/or car-
ryforward of 2 percent, of which carrover shall not represent m-
orethan 1 percent.
This Memorandum supercedes the Memorandum of Understanding of D-
ecember 15, 2000.
The limits for 2001 are shown in the Annex to this Memorandum.
The provisions of this Memorandum of Understanding shall be eff-
ective upon signature.
