Dear Mr. Wu:
Following consultations between the American Institute in Taiwa-
n and the Coordination Council for North American Affairs as ca-
lled for in paragraph 5, as amended, of the Bilateral Textile T-
rade Agreement of June 8,1978, I wish to confirm the request of
the American Institute in Taiwan that the Coordination Council
for North American Affairs limit exports to the United States of
products classified in Category 337 to a level of 120,000 dozen
during 1930.
I also wish to confirm the request of the American Institute in
Taiwan that the Coordination Council for North American Affairs
limit exports to the United States of products classified in TS-
USA No. 310.5049 to a level of 2,700,000 SYE during 1980, and t-
hat the following conditions apply: (a) CCNAA will not permit e-
xports to the United States of this product during the period O-
ctober 1-December 31,1980, and (b) the 1980 limit (for the purp-
oses of sub-paragraphs 5(e)(ii) and 5(e)(iv) of the Agreement) -
and the 1980 level of trade (for the purpose of sub-paragraph 5(
e) (v)) shall henceforth be considered to have been 1,700,000 S-
YE.
I would appreciate confirmation from you that the Coordination
Council for North American Affairs agrees to the above requests.

I wish to acknowledge receipt of your letter dated July 25,1980
requesting to limit exports, from my country to the United St-
ates, of products classified in Category 337 to a level of 120
,000 dozens and of products classified in TSUSA No. 310.5049
to a level of 2,700,000 SYE respectively, during 1980.
I also wish to confirm that my Government agrees to above reque-
sts.
