Organization Regulations of the National Defense University CH

1.Order of the Ministry of National Defense (89) No. 8900006241 of the Republic of China on May 6, 2000.The full text of the 15 articles will be published; and will be implemented as of the date of publication.
2.Amendment to Decree No. 0930000441 of the Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of China on April 28, 2004. Issue Articles 5, 6, 8, and 10
3.Amendment to the Ministry of National Defense, No. 0950000854, Order of the Republic of China on September 28, 2006. The full text of the 15 articles was issued; and it was implemented on September 1, 2006.
4.Amendment of the Order No. 0970000015 of the National Committee of the Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of China on January 4, 2008. Issue Articles 5 and 15; and implement from the release date.
5.Order No. 1030000213 of the National Regulations Committee of the Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of China on August 18, 2014. Amend the provisions of clauses 5, 6, 8, 11, and 15; delete the provisions of Article 10; Daily execution.
6.Order No. 1080000222 of the National Regulations Committee of the Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of China on August 2, 2019. Articles 5, 6, 8, 9, 12 to 14 are being issued.
Article 5
The administrative entities of NDU consist of the following divisions, centers, offices, units and programs dealing with school affairs:
(1) Academic Affairs Division: In charge of student recruitment, registration, curriculum, teaching material, enrollment status, table of organization & equipment and other academic affairs.
(2) Student Affairs Division: In charge of psychological consulting, clubs & activities, patriotic education, military security, news management, civil affairs and foreign exchange students’ affairs.
(3) General Affairs Division: Responsible for the administration of official documentation, personnel, logistics, construction, procurement & bidding and other general affairs.
(4) Library and Information Center: Responsible for the collection and research of educational resources and other information services pertaining to the use of the library and information.
(5) Information Management Center: Responsible for campus information & technology systems, management of NDU’s global network, and internet & communication security.
(6) Research and Development Office: In charge of planning of NDU development affairs, research of educational development, lifelong learning, continued education, academic exchange & research, preparation & revision of regulations for the research of military materiel performance and development, application for project outsourcing, foreign affairs exchange, translation and compilation of military-related publications.
(7) Comptroller Office: Responsible for fiscal budget, accounting and statistics.
(8) Infirmary: In charge of prophylactic health, military medicine administration, emergency medical services and medical supplies.
(9) National Development Course: Offer opportunities for military, police, and public officers of allied or friendly nations to receive training and tours in Taiwan in order to advance diplomacy and strengthen international exchange.
These entities can be adjusted, or new ones can be created if there is academic or investigation need and the Ministry of National Defense approves such a request from behalf of the University.

Article 6
The units of NDU include the War College, Army Command and Staff College, Naval Command and Staff College, Air Command and Staff College, Chung Cheng Institute of Technology, Management College, Fu Hsing Kang College, General Education Center, Military Common Curriculum Center, Language Center, Physical Education Office, and Service Company.
The colleges are composed of departments, graduate schools, chief instructor offices, education administration offices, professional military education programs, student officer squadrons and cadet regiments. When necessary, divisions, centers or sections may be established in order to meet the needs of promoting related affairs.

Article 8
The director of the General Education Center, deans of graduate schools, and all department directors and chiefs shall be chosen from qualified full-time associate professors or above and hired for a fixed term by the President of NDU after approval by the Ministry of National Defense.
Tenure of the above-mentioned employees, procedures of continuous appointment or dismissal of department (institute) directors and relevant matters shall be handled in accordance with the “Act and Enforcement Rules of Assignment for Officers And Noncommissioned Officers of the Armed Forces” and all relevant regulations, and approved by the Ministry of National Defense.

Article 9
Faculty of NDU is categorized into professors, associate professors, assistant professors, and lecturers, which perform the tasks of teaching, research, advice, as well as to host conferences, teaching and research programs. If necessary, assistants could be assigned in order to meet the needs of teaching and research work.

Article 12
For the purpose of meeting actual demands, the colleges, departments, academic programs and graduate schools of NDU are authorized to organize academic committee meetings and other conferences in accordance with the University Act.

Article 13
NDU may set up different committees to meet the actual demands. The faculty of the committees should be appointed from the specified number of personnel defined by the Organization Regulations.

Article 14
NDU may employ civilian personnel in order to meet the needs of dealing with school affairs.
