EXCHANGE OF LETTERS OF THE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE GOVERNMENT OF
THE REPUBLIC OF CHINA AND THE GOVERNMENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF MAL-
AWI ON TECHNICAL AND VOCATIONAL TRAINING COOPERATION

NOTE NO. 36/2003
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of
the Republic of Malawi presents compliments to the Embassy of
the Republic of China and has the honour to refer to the Agreem-
ent between the Government of the Republic of Malawi and the Go-
vernment of the Republic of China on Technical and Vocational
Training Cooperation that expires on 31st December, 2003.

The Ministry wishes to inform the esteemed Embassy that inline
with Article VII of the afore-mentioned agreement, it is the in-
tention of the Government of the Republic of Malawi to have the
agreement renewed for a period of twelve months from the date of
its expiry, thus 31st December, 2003, to 31st December, 2004.

The Ministry would therefore be grateful to be advised whether
the proposed extension of this agreement by the Government of
the Republic of Malawi is acceptable to the Government of the
Republic of China.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of
the Republic of Malawi avails itself of this opportunity to ren-
ew to the esteemed Embassy of the Republic of China the assuran-
ces of its highest consideration.

The Embassy of the Republic of China presents its compliments to
the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of
the Republic of Malawi and, with reference to the esteemed Mini-
stry's Note No. 36/2003, has the honour to inform the latter th-
at the ROC Government is in compliance with the Malawi Governme-
nt's intention to have an "Agreement Between the Government of
the Republic of China and the Government of the Republic of Mal-
awi on Technical and Vocational Cooperation" which expired on
December 31, 2003 be renewed for the next 12 months effective
from January 1, 2004.

The Embassy of the Republic of China avails itself of this oppo-
rtunity to renew to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Interna-
tional Cooperation of the Republic of Malawi the assurances of
its highest consideration.
