The Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) presents its
compliments to the Department of Foreign Affairs of Government
of Tuvalu and has the honor to refer to the “Agricultural
Technical Cooperation Agreement between the Government of the
Republic of China and the Government of Tuvalu“ extended on
September 29, 2006 by exchange of notes.

The embassy wishes to inform the latter that in line with
Article Ⅳ of the Aforesaid Agreement, it is the intention of
the Government of the Republic of China (Taiwan) to renew the
said Agreement and propose as the following:
a. The validity of the Agreement from September 30, 2009 shall
remain in force until a ninety (90) days’ prior Notification
of termination in writing from either Government to the
other.
b. The Agreement may be amended at any time by mutual consent.
Any amendment mutually agreed upon by both Government shall
be annexed to the Agreement in writing.
c. The exchange of Diplomatic notes between the Embassy of the
Republic of China (Taiwan) and the Department of Foreign
Affairs of Tuvalu will constitute an amendment and be annexed
to the Agreement.

The embassy would Appreciate a confirmation reply from the
Department with respect to the renewal of the said Agreement as
well as the above mentioned proposals.

The embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) avails itself of
this opportunity to renew to the Department of Foreign Affairs
of the Government of Tuvalu the assurances of its highest
consideration.

The Department of Foreign Affairs and Labour of the Government
of Tuvalu presents its compliments to the Embassy of the
Republic of China and with reference to the Latter’s Note No.
763/2009 has the honour to confirm the Government of Tuvalu’s
support and agreement to the continuation and renewal of the “
Agricultural Technical Cooperation Agreement between the
Governments of the Republic of China (Taiwan) and Tuvalu as
Proposed by the Government of the Republic of China.

The Department has the further honour to register its gratitude
for the agricultural technical support provided under this
cooperation which has been successfully implemented since its
inception in 2006. The people of Tuvalu, especially on the
capital has greatly benefitted from the fresh farm produce of
the “Taugasoa Fiafia Garden”, the seedlings and technical
advice that has helped in the promotion and improvement of home
gardening and in other areas as well, such as piggery and fish
farming.

The Department of Foreign Affairs of the Government of Tuvalu
avails itself of the opportunity to renew to the Embassy of the
Republic of China (Taiwan) the assurances of its highest
consideration.
