research project entitled, Development of biosensor-survey of
Salmonella Contamination in foods, development of DNA probe, and
comparison of it with the EIA kit for rapid detection of Salmon-
ella. "
The research will be carried out at the Department of Food Scie-
nce, National Chung Hsing University, Taichung in collaboration
and through Council of Agriculture (COA), Taipei, Taiwan.
The amount of the grant shall not exceed NT$4,834,000. The Amer-
ican Institute in Taiwan will provide NT$2,234,000 and Council
of Agricultural will provide NT$2,600,000 to carry out the rese-
arch during a period not to exceed four (4) years beginning July
1, 1987.
The arrangements for carrying out the project were mutually agr-
eed upon during negotiations on August 6, 1987, at the Council
of Agriculture, Taipei, Taiwan. Present at negotiations were Dr.
Hau-yang Tsen for the National Chung Hsing University, Drs. T. Y
. Ku, Charles Y. T. Huang and Hsun Tu for the Council of Agricu-

We are prepared to make a grant to your Council under United St-
ates Public Law 480, 83rd Congress, as amended, to undertake a
research project entitled, "Toxoplasmosis in swine - epidemiolo-
gy, pathology, and vaccine development."
The research will be carried out at the National Institute of A-
griculture, Pingtung in collaboration and through Council of Ag-
riculture (COA), Taipei, Taiwan.
The amount of the grant shall not exceed NTS5,287,000. The Amer-
ican Institute in Taiwan will provide NT$2,392,000 and Council
of Agriculture will provide NT$2,895,000 to carry out the resea-
rch during a period not to exceed five (5) years beginning July
1, 1987.
Present at negotiations were Dr. Gan-Nan Chang for the National
Institute of Agriculture, Drs. Tracey Lin an Marty Chang for the
Council of Agriculture, Dr. Jerry S. Walker and Ms.
Gloria Yanosky for the American Institute in Taiwan.

an Brahman and Santa Gertrudis in southern Taiwan."
The research will be carried out at the Taiwan Livestock Resear-
ch Institute, Ping-Tung in collaboration and through Council of
Agriculture (COA), Taipei, Taiwan.
The amount of the grant shall not exceed NT$4,240,000. The Amer-
ican Institute in Taiwan will provide NT$2,160,000 and Council
of Agriculture will provide NT$2,080,000 to carry out the resea-
rch during a period not to exceed five (5) years beginning July
1, 1987.
The arrangements for carrying out the project were mutually agr-
eed upon during negotiations on August 11, 1987, at the Council
of Agriculture, Taipei, Taiwan. Present at negotiations were Dr.
C. M. Hong and Mr. Shang-Hsiang Wen for the Taiwan Livestock Re-
search Institute, Drs. Hsun Tu, Charles Cheng and Frank Chen for
the Council of Agriculture and Drs. Jerry S. Walker, Richard Ca-
rmichael and Ms. Gloria Yanosky for the American Institute in T-
aiwan.
