Ⅰ Note from the Embassy of the Republic of China to the Minis-
try of Foreign Affairs of Tuvalu
No. CE-2393
The Embassy of the Republic of China presents its complimen-
ts to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tuvalu and has the
honour to inform the latter that the Government of the Repu-
blic of China desires and proposes that the present Fisheri-
es Licensing Agreement between the Government of Tuvalu and
the Taiwan Deep-Sea Tuna Boat Owners and Exporters Associat-
ion of the Republic of China be extended for another year w-
ith the terms, coditions and general cnotents of it remain
unchanged but on a 49 boats US$72,373.00 a year basis.
If this is acceptable to the Tuvaluan Government, then this
Memorandum and the Memorandum in reply confirming such acce-
ptance from the Ministry will constitute an Agreement betwe-
en the two Governments which will enter into force on the d-
ate of March 4,1985, on the extension of the ”Agreement Be-
tween The Government of Tuvalu And The Taiwan Deep-Sea Tuna
Boat Owners And Exporters Association Of The Republic Of Ch-
ina Concerning the Licensing Of Fishing Vessels Of the Repu-
blic Of China to Fish Within The Fishery Limits OF Tuvalu”
for another year, that is to say, from March 5, 1985 to Mar-
ch 4, 1986.
The Embassy of the Republic of China avails itself of this
opportunity to renew to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of
Tuvalute assurances of its highest consideration.

Embassy of the Republic of China

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Government of Tuvalu
presents its compliments to the Embassy of the Republic of
China in Nukualofa, Kingdom of Tonga, and with reference to
the latter's Note No. CE-2393 of March 20, 1985 has the hon-
our to confirm the Government of Tuvalu's acceptance of the
terms and conditions specified in the Embassy's Note under
reference with regard the extension of the Fisheries Agreem-
ent between the Government of Tuvalu and the Taiwan Deep-Sea
Tuna Boat Owners and Exporters Association of the Republic
of China, for another period of one year from March 4, 1985.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirms that this Memorand-
um plus the Embassy's Memorandum under reference will const-
itute an Agreement between the two Governments on the afore-
mentioned matter.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Government of Tuvalu
avails itself of this opportunity to renew to the Embassy t-
he assurances of its highest consideration.
