ates Public Law 480, 83rd Congress, as amended, to undertake a
research project entitled "Extrusion cooking of rice - A physic-
al and chemical characteristics study."
The research will be carried out at the National Taiwan Univers-
ity in collaboration and through the Council of Agriculture (COA
), Taipei, Taiwan.
The American Institute in Taiwan will provide NT$4,593,000 to c-
arry out the research during a period not to exceed five (5) ye-
ars beginning July 1, 1991. First years funds in the amount of
NT$871,000 is provided at this time by the American Institute in
Taiwan. Dr. T.Y. Ku will negotiate funds provided by the council
of Agriculture (COA) for this project.

nique and Application of PCR (Polymerace Chain Reaction) for ra-
pid detection of bacteria (Salmonella and Listeria) in foods."
The research will be carried out at the National Chung Using Un-
iversity in collaboration and through the council of Agriculture
(COA), Taipei, Taiwan.
The American Institute in Taiwan will provide NT$3,057,900 to c-
arry out the research during a period not to exceed five (5) ye-
ars beginning July 1, 1991. First years funds in the amount of
NT$540,000 is provided at this time by the American Institute in
Taiwan. Dr. T.Y. Ku will negotiate funds provided by the council
of Agriculture (COA) for this project.
