IEC 555/72/02/(-SON)
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and
Gambians Abroad of the Republic of The Gambia presents its
compliments to the Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) in
Banjul and with reference to the Agreement of Medical
Cooperation between the Government of the Republic of China
(Taiwan) and the Government of the Republic of The Gambia which
was signed In 1995, renewed in 2001 and 2005 respectively, and
is to expire on 18 October 2010, has the honour to state that
during recent consultations between the contracting parties to
the aforesaid Agreement. The following mutual understanding has
been arrived at:

1) The aforesaid Agreement shall be renewed with its annual
financial assistance pegged at Six Hundred Thousand US dollar
(US $600,000) and remain valid for a period of five (5) years
as from 19 October 2010.
2) All other terms and conditions set forth in the aforesaid
Agreement shall remain the same.

On behalf of the Government of the Republic of The Gambia, the
Ministry has the further honour to confirm its acceptance to the
above understanding and to state that this Note and a Note of
reply from the Embassy confirming the acceptance by the
Government of the Republic of China (Taiwan) to the above
understanding shall constitute an agreement supplement to the
aforesaid Agreement.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and
Gambians Abroad of the Republic of Gambia avails itself of this
opportunity to renew to the Embassy of the Republic of China
(Taiwan) in Banjul the assurances of its highest consideration.

The Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) presents its
compliments to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International
Cooperation and Gambians Abroad of the Republic of The Gambia
and has the honor to acknowledge receipt of the latter's Note
no, IEC 555172/02/(-SON) dated 15 September 2010 which reads as
follows:

"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and
Gambians Abroad of the Republic of' The Gambia presents its
compliments to the Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) in
Banjul and with reference to the Agreement of Medical
Cooperation between the Government of the Republic of China
(Taiwan) and the Government of the Republic of The Gambia which

In reply, the Embassy has the further honor to confirm, on
behalf of the Government of the Republic of China (Taiwan), that
the Ministry's Note and this Note shall constitute an agreement
supplemental to the aforesaid Agreement.

The Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) avails itself of
this opportunity to renew to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs,
International Cooperation and Gambians Abroad of the Republic of
The Gambia the assurances of its highest consideration.
