1.Signed on February 22, 2008; Entered into force on February 22, 2008;
 
The Bureau of Standards, Metrology and Inspection (BSMI) and the
Standards, Productivity and Innovation Board (SPRING Singapore),
hereby agree to amend the Mutual Recognition Arrangement on
Conformity Assessment (MRA) concluded between the parties on
November 28, 2005, by deleting Article 7.12.1.2 of the MRA and
substituting the following Article in its place:
7.12.1.2 the accreditation body participates in mutual
recognition arrangements, such as the Pacific
Accreditation Cooperation (PAC) Multilateral
Recognition Arrangement for Accreditation of Product
Certification Bodies, where they are subject to peer
evaluation of the competence of Accreditation Bodies
and the Certification Bodies accredited by them.
This Amendment is made in duplicate in the English and Chinese
languages. This Amendment comes into effect on the date of
signature by the representatives of the two parties. The MRA
shall hereafter be read and construed in conjunction with this
Amendment. The term "Arrangement" as used in the MRA and all
other references to the MRA, howsoever expressed, in all other
instruments and agreements shall for all purposes refer to the
MRA as amended by this Amendment. Save for the amendment
reflected herein, all other terms and conditions of the MRA
shall remain in full force and effect.
