Ⅰ Note from Mr. William P. Rogers, American Secretary of State
to Mr. James C.H. Shen, Chinese Ambassador.

Excellency:
I have the honor to refer to the agreement between our two Gove-
rments concerning exports of wool and man-made fiber textile pr-
oducts from the Republic of China to the United States effected
by exchange of notes on December 30,1971, and in particular to
that portion of Annex B of the agreement entitled “Categories
of Man-made Fiber Textile Products”. Pursuant to recent conver-
sations between representatives of our two Governments, I have
the honor to propose that the description of Category 222 as co-
ntaine in Annex B be amended to read as follows:“Trousers, sla-
cks and shorts, knit, men's, boys', women's, girls' and infants
If the foregoing is acceptable to your Government, this note and
Your Excellency's note of acceptance on behalf of the Government
of the Republic of China shall constitute an amendment of the w-
ool and man-made fiber textile agreement effected by exchange of
notes on December 30,1971.
Accept, Excellency, the renewed assurances of my highest consid-
eration.

I have the honor to acknowledge receipt of your note of this da-
te which reads as follows:
“Excellency:
“I have the honor to refer to the agreement between our two Go-
vernments concerning exports of wool and man-made fiber textile
products from the Republic of China to the United States effect-
ed by exchange of notes on December 30,1971, and in particular
to that portion of Annex B of the agreement entitled “Categori-
es of Man-made Fiber Textile Products”. Pursuant to recent con-
versation between representatives of our two Governments, I have
