Ⅰ Letter from Mr. Umberto Garrone, Italian Vice-Director-Gener-
al for Commercial Agreements, Ministry of Foreign Trade, to
Mr. Shao-chang Hsu, Chinese Ambassador.
December 30, 1968
Excellency,
I refer to the letter of Ambassador Cheng Pao-nan of December
29, 1967, and my letter of reply of January 8, 1968, constit-
uting an agreement exports of cotton textiles, bleached and
unbleached, from the Republic of China to Italy for the year
of 1968.
As result of recent consultations held between your Embassy
and this Ministry, it is found mutually desiderable to renew
for another year the validity of the agreement referred to a-
bove. All the undertakings of the Government of the Republic
of China set forth in the said agreement will continue to be
assumed for the year 1969.
This letter and a letter of reply from your Embassy confirmi-
ng the above understanding will constitute the desired renew-
al of the agreement referred to above.

to Garrone, Italian Vice-Director-General for Commercial Agr-
eements, Ministry of Foreign Trade.

Sir:
I wish to acknowledge receipt of your letter of December 30,
1968, which reads as follows:
“I refer to the letter of Ambassador Cheng Pao-nan of Decem-
ber 29, 1967, and my letter of reply of January 8, 1968, con-
stituting an agreement on exports of cotton textiles, bleach-
ed ad unbleached, from the Republic of China to Italy for the
year of 1968.
“As a result of recent consultations held between your Emba-
ssy and this Ministry, it is found mutually desirable to ren-
ew for another year the validity of the agreement referred to
above. All the undertakings of the government of the Republic
of China set forth in the said agreement will continue to be
assumed for the year 1969.
“This letter and a letter of reply from your Embassy confir-
ming the above understanding will constitute the desired ren-
ewal of the agreement referred to above.”
In reply, I am authorized to confirm that the above understa-
nding for the renewal of the agreement concerned is appeptab-
le to the Government of the Republic of China.
