Title:
Agreement of the Sicentific Cooperation between the National Science council in Taipei and the Swedish Research Council

1.Signed on April 8 and April 24, 2002. Entered into force on April 24, 2002.
The National Science Council (NSC) in Taipei and the Swedish Re-
search Council (VR) agree to develop a program of scientific co-
operation according to the following principles:
1.The program will encompass science within the mutual competen-
ce of the two organizations. Specific areas will be selected
for concentrated cooperation, as agreed by the Parties.
2.Modes of cooperation in the program may include:
- joint research projects
- seminars and workshops
- exchanges of and visits by scientists
- staff exchanges
3.Each party will bear the costs of its participation in the pr-
ogram following the principle of "sending side" pays, subject
to funds being made available in accordance with the constitu-
tional procedures of each country.
4.The program as a whole is expected to involve pproximately the
same level of effort by each party but will not require an eq-
ual effort in each separate project.
5.When executed by both Parties, the agreement shall remain in
force until either party notifies the other of its intention
to terminate the agreement. The notification shall be made at
least six month in advance of the termination of the agreement
.
