Chapter 3 Medical Subsidy
Article 18
In any of the following situations, relevant certificates shall be submitted to the competent authority at the locality of residence to apply for medical subsidies:
1. Injury or illness of a low-income family member
2. Serious injury or illness, for which the patient and the maintenance obligee can’t afford the medical expenses.
Those who can get payment from the National Health Insurance may not claim medical subsidies according to the above paragraph.
Article 19
The insurance premium for low-income households to cover the National Health Insurance shall be paid from the budget of the central competent authorities.
As for the insurance premium for middle-to-low-income households to cover the National Health Insurance, this shall be paid by themselves and 50% of it shall be paid by the central competent authority.
Article 20
Payment items, methods, and standards of medical subsidy shall be determined by the central and municipality competent authorities. The municipality competent authorities shall report to the central competent authority for review and reference.
