EYTENSION OF AGREEMENT BETEEN THE TAIPEI ECONOMIC AND CULTURAL
REPRESENTATIVE OFFICE IN THE UNITED STATES AND THE AMERICAN INS-
TITUTE IN TAIWAN FOR THE TECHNICAL COOPERATION IN THE FIELD OF
ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION

Pursuant to Article VIII of the Agreement between the Taipei Ec-
onomic and Gultclral Representative Office in the United States
(TECRO) and the American Institute in Taiwan (AIT) for Technical
Cooperation in the Field of Environmental Protection, dated June
2 I, 1993, and its Extension Agreement dated June 30, 1998, her-
einafter referred to as the "Agreement", the Taipei Economic and
Cultural Representative Office in the United States, formerly
known as the Coordination Council for North American Affairs (C-
CNAA), and the American Institute in Taiwan. (AIT) agree to ext-
end the Agreement for additional five years, until June 21, 2008
. All terms and conditions in the Agreement, including the Purp-
ose, Scope of Work, Authorization, Funding, Management, Intelle-
ctual Property Considerations, Relationship to Other Agreements,
and Entry Into Force, Amendment and Termination, shall continue
to apply.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the undersigned, being duly authorized, have
signed this Agreement.

SIGNED in Taipei, Taiwan, in duplicate, in the English language.
