MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE BUREAU OF COMMODITY INSPECTION & QUARANTINE IN TAIPEI AND THE CZECH OFFICE FOR STANDARDS, METROLOGY AND TESTING IN PRAGUE (AD.1995.10.05)

The Bureau of Commodity Inspection and Quarantine in Taipei (BC-
IQ) and the Czech Office for Standards, Metrology and Testing in
Prague (COSMT), hereinafter referred to as the "Parties" , wish
to conclude a Memorandum of Understanding (Memorandum) in pursu-
ance of their desire to cooperate in defined areas.
BCIQ has been established as the national supreme authority in
commodity inspection and also offers testing and certification
services for commodities.
COSMT is a state administration body executing legal responsibi-
lities in standarization, testing, certification and metrology.
With the aim to promote mutual trade, and to facilitate exporte-
rs of the Parties to this Memorandum to introduce their products
into the market of the other Party, both Parties confirmed their
decisiveness and willingness to enter into a cooperation on a r-
eciprocal basis.
Each of the Parties agrees:
- to mention the present cooperation in the promotional documen-
ts of its certification system;
- to provide the other Party, within a reasonable time, with any
significant changes occuring in its own cerfitication procedu-
res and standards;
- to maintain contact with the other Party to ensure the smooth
application of this Memorandum;
- to contribute to the development of operating procedures and
promotional materials;
- to present in an appropriate way the information on COSMT and
BCIQ.
Before the realization of any of the above actions, a discussion
on details should take place.
Ths Memorandum, done in duplicate in the English language, shall
come into force upon the signatures of both Parties and remain
valid for a period of 5 years.
