In addition to that, handheld insect swatters using secondary batteries are also getting popular among consumers recently. As a result of risk assessment, BSMI proposes that electric insect killers (including insect swatters) and 6 other electrical appliances and the secondary lithium cells/batteries used by these products shall comply with CNS 13564: 2013 and Sections 7.3.8.1 “vibration” and 7.3.8.2 “mechanical shock” of CNS 62133-2: 2018.
