Article 1
This standard is established under the provisions of Item 2 of Article 22 of the Act Governing Food Sanitation.
Article 2
Packaged vitamin and mineral tablets and capsules on the market shall provide the following information shown at a conspicuous place of the outer package or container:
(1) Title of “Nutrition labeling”
(2) Vitamin contents
(3) Mineral contents
(4) Contents of other ingredients labeled by the manufacturer voluntarily
Article 3
Ways of labeling of contents of vitamins, minerals and other ingredients: The contents of each tablet (or capsule) shall be labeled and the number of tablets (or capsules) contained in each package of the product and the daily value (in percentage) provided by each tablet (or capsule) shall be specified. Where no daily value is established with respect to a certain ingredient, the daily value section shall be asterisked (*) and specify the following wording:”* Daily Value not established.”
Article 4
The contents of vitamins, minerals and other ingredients shall be labeled in metric units. For Vitamins A, D and E, the contents shall be additionally labeled in IU.

The table below shows the daily values of various vitamins and minerals (based on Taiwan’s Dietary Reference Intakes, amended in 2002):

NB: In the event of an amendment to Taiwan’s Dietary Reference Intakes amended in 2002, the amendment as promulgated shall prevail.
Article 6
Rule of rounding-off: The number of tablets (or capsules) in each package and the percentage of daily value shall be expressed in integer. The contents of vitamins, minerals and other ingredients shall be expressed in not more than three significant figures.
Article 7
If the physiological functions of packaged vitamin and mineral tablets and capsules on the market are to be described, the minimum daily intake must be 15% of the daily value.
Article 8
Packaged vitamin and mineral tablets and capsules on the market shall label the following warning at a conspicuous place: “No more thantablets (or capsules) each day.”
Article 9
“The Standard of the Format and Covering Items on Nutrition Labeling for Prepackaged Foods” shall not apply to packaged vitamin and mineral tablets and capsules on the market.
Article 10
The implementation date for this standard shallbeimplementedfromApril 30, 2012.
