THE TAIWAN-JAPAN RELATIONS ASSOCIATION and THE JAPAN-TAIWAN
EXCHANGE ASSOCIATION (hereinafter

collectively referred to as “ both Sides ” ), Having regard to
paragraph 3(7) of the Arrangement between the Association of
East Asian Relations and the Interchange Association for the
Establishment of the Respective Oversea Offices of December 26,
1972 and paragraph 8 of the Memorandum on Strengthening of
Exchange and Cooperation between the Association of East Asian
Relations and the Interchange Association on April 30, 2010; and

Bearing in mind that the organic food systems of Taiwan and
Japan are deemed equivalent, will cooperate with each other in
order to obtain necessary consent from the relevant authorities
regarding the import and export of organic foods as follows:

1. The certified products under the Organic JAS system attached
with the certification issued from the designated
organizations may be imported into Taiwan and sold in Taiwan
as organic.
2. The certified products under the Taiwanese organic
agricultural product system attached with the certification
issued from the designated organizations may be imported into
Japan and sold in Japan as organic.
3. The details of the import and export of organic foods will be
discussed between the relevant authorities.
4. This memorandum will be initiated upon the date of signing by
both Sides and may be modified upon mutual written consent by
both sides.
